Secessionaires' disease strikes U.S.

It's official.

Citizens in all 50 states, from the deepest blue to the brightest red, have filed petitions for their individual state to secede from the United States of America.

So, what are we gonna call ourselves?

The Cranky Communes of America?

We not only have losers spouting their racist rhetoric, but we also have hundreds of thousands willing to disband the union because their Bain brain lost to our community organizer.

Ouch.

The utter despair displayed by the teabagging right-wing is reaching new lows.

A letter writer to the local daily had this to say after the decisive Nov. 6 victory by President Obama: "After 236 years of existence, a new country emerged, run by secular progressives who openly reject our constitution."

Okay ... The lug-nuts are loose on that wheel.

There is now an attempt to impeach President Obama.

And, if that doesn't work, well, you know what's left. Yes, you can be sure that tens of millions of Americans would rather see President Obama assassinated than serve out his term. Actually, they would rejoice.

That's how far we have fallen as a nation.

For those filled with hate for this nation, no one is keeping you here against your will.

Please leave, and I hope the door hits your ass hard on the way out.

  1. It does seem a little over the top and extremely unrealistic not to mention the small numbers given the total population. Maybe they can have Florida or something. At the same time, free to choose, free to be...right?

We've become so divided it feels a little sketchy right now. People on both sides are desperate and clinging on to whatever they think might save them. I'm sure that this is politically charged but you can understand how easy it would be to go out and find a couple million people to sign just about anything right now? Heck, a lot of people would sign a petition based on a short pitch and a hot meal. I think we're so sheltered in Central Oregon that we can't feel what some people are feeling out there. It's rough here but it's one failed move away from the “Road Warrior” in many parts of the country.

The diversity that is supposed to make us great is being exploited by all sides. You're obviously rooting hard for your team. I don't think I've ever seen you write anything that wasn't in line. Is there anything you don't agree with? Obamacare? That might be a nice concept but that's a horrible way to execute it IMO.

Until we've walked a mile in someone's shoes, it's hard to say what we would or wouldn't do. Hopefully we can talk ourselves off the ledge and move forward…seems unlikely with the dark clouds on the horizon. The headwind is unreal and we just add more fuel to compensate.

Surely you can’t be completely optimistic? For me, it's hard not to feel like things are about go into free fall mode. Apple is going to need a bailout just to prop up the stock price while some heavy hitter longs get out. Not to pick on Apple but they've been one of the few consistent bright spots over the last 10 years. Lot of money lost in the last couple months over at APPL. It's a window into what I think is coming. Timing is always hard to call though, money printing is obviously pretty powerful stuff. The current downward trends won't be allowed to continue without a fight. DOW back up to 13.5ish by the end of the year and then off a cliff…APPL 450 this time next year. Great company but they'll need to pull another rabbit out of the hat and soon if they're going to find their way back out of this hole. I think we're looking directly into the face of "Peak Everything" and our ability to artificially prop things up might not hold much longer. The deflationary forces will overpower at some point and it’s going to hurt.

Gas prices are low, Happy Holidays!
